Terms of Use
Effective August 8, 2026
These terms are deliberately short. By downloading or using theParlane app or this website, you agree to them.
What Parlane is
Parlane is a native client that renders interfaces served by servers you choose to connect to. We provide the app and this website; we do not provide, operate, or control the servers you connect to.
Provided as-is
Parlane is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind — express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular server will work with it.
Your servers, your responsibility
You choose which servers to connect to. You are responsible for those choices: for the content those servers send and receive, for any credentials or tokens you use, and for complying with the terms of any third-party server you connect to. Interfaces rendered in the app come from the connected server's operator, not from us.
Acceptable use
Don't use Parlane to break the law, to infringe others' rights, to attack or gain unauthorized access to servers or devices, or to attempt to disrupt the app, the relay, or other users. Don't misrepresent an interface rendered through Parlane in a way designed to deceive people.
Open source and the relay
The Parlane relay is open source under the GNU AGPL-3.0 license and can be self-hosted. Your use of the relay source code is governed by that license, not by these terms. If you use our hosted relay (a paid tier), these terms apply to that service.
Subscriptions
The on-device features, one connected app, and view-only dashboards are free. Parlane Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription — US$8.99 per month or US$79 per year — that unlocks unlimited connected apps, push notifications, and two-way (interactive) dashboards. Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store: payment is charged to your Apple Account, renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and is managed or cancelled in your App Store account settings. Prices may vary by region, and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use ofParlane — including anything done by a server you connected to. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, on the free tier, is zero).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws ofjurisdiction TBD — founder to confirm, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. Continuing to use Parlane after a change means you accept the updated terms.
